How many times have you been telling someone about a recent event, only to hear them exclaim, "You did WHAT????"
Here's an example:
For many years, I have heard the urban myth about cooking food on an engine. One day, as I worked my way across South Dakota, I decided to just try it and see what happened. I stopped at a supermarket, and bought the ingredients. Here's the recipe (for one):
1 small Beef pot roast, rubbed with salt & pepper to taste
1 carrot
1 onion
1 clove garlic
4 small red (new) potatoes
A handfull of fresh green beans
Directions:
1. Wrap everything in two layers of aluminum foil, taking care to fold over the edges twice as you seal it up.
2. Repeat step 1.
3. Position carefully on engine. I chose the flat depressed space on top of the intake manifold, just in front of the carburetor. This place gets quite hot, but not burning hot like anything close to the exhaust system. It has the advantage of being less likely to allow the meal to slide off while bounding over the potholes.
4. Drive for 4 hours.
5. Pull over into rest area, turn off engine, set table.
6. Remove roast from engine, unwrap carefully over big bowl and transfer into a serving platter. Arrange cooked vegetables on platter around roast. Pour liquids from bowl over roast. Carve roast and enjoy!
I really did this, and it was terrific!
What have you done that makes people exclaim,
YOU DID WHAT?!?!?!?
