  Sidekicks, Rockmart, Georgia

Yee haw! At Sidekicks, the theme is cowboys, cattle, and horses.  Located right on Highway 278 in Rockmart, Sidekicks offers some of the best burgers, barbeque, and sandwiches in the area.  Although Sidekicks is not open on Sundays, it is always a frequent hot spot for lunchers. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

            Sidekicks serves a variety of appetizers, wings, side dishes, salads, steaks, barbeque, chicken, seafood, sandwiches, children's menu, and desserts.  To begin your journey as a Sidekicks cowboy or cowgirl, you can start off your meal with fried pickle spears, chili cheese fries, jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, buffalo fingers, potato skins, onion petals, or a large platter of cheese sticks, jalapeno poppers, mushrooms, and onion rings called the Roundup Platter.  The wings here are fantastic and are available in hot, mild, barbeque, and honey barbeque. 

            Side dishes include the usual fries, onion rings, tater tots, baked potato, and chips, but you can also choose slaw, Brunswick stew, baked beans, chili, and steamed vegetables are side dishes to change up the meal.  If you are a salad lover, welcome to paradise. You can choose a chef, ham and cheese, hickory, grilled or fried chicken, or chicken salad salad or even visit the salad bar to get exactly what you want. If you want a different type of salad, you should try the hickory salad, which is a traditional salad with barbeque pork. 

            As far as steaks, Sidekicks does offer steaks, but they are not as large as you would find at other restaurants in Rockmart. You can choose a twelve ounce prime rib, eight ounce sirloin, fourteen ounce hamburger steak, and fourteen ounce ribeye steaks. 

            If you crave the ultimate cowboy or cowgirl food, barbeque at Sidekicks is definitely the way to go. For the chicken lover, you can choose chicken fingers, grilled chicken, and Santa Fe Chicken as your meal. Shrimp and catfish are also available or you can add a skewer of shrimp to your meal.

            For a quick, easy meal, the sandwiches at Sidekicks are what you want. You can have anything from a barbeque sandwich to a BLT to a regular burger to a grilled cheese sandwich. My husband loves their burgers, but I love the Philly cheese steak sandwich.
